Novatek says freights 15 Arc7 tankers from Zvezda shipyard

MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- Arctic LNG 2, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project of Russian gas producer Novatek has chartered 15 tankers of the ice class Arc7 that will be built on the Zvezda shipyard, Novatek said in a statement on Monday.

"PAO Novatek announced that its joint venture Arctic LNG 2 entered into long-term charter agreements on 14 Arc7 ice-class LNG tankers with SMART LNG (a joint venture between NOVATEK and PAO Sovcomflot), with the construction of the LNG tankers to be built at the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex," the company said.

An agreement for a pilot vessel was signed in October.
